Google, a hacking tool?

GoolagEarlier this week, the (in)famous hacking group, The Cult of the Dead Cow(cDc), created a tool that turns the search giant into a massive vulnerability scanner. It has the ability to find passwords and other sensitive information in a matter of minutes. Many may know cDc as the creators of programs such as Black Orfice which achieved the utmost fame just 10 years ago. With this new tool, Goolag scanner, even unskilled soccer moms can acquire password information.

Although, this tool could be used for malicious purposes, it can also help administrators to find vulnerabilities on their own sites before someone else does. Goolag scan is currently a win32 only application, but cDc is in the process of making a Linux compatible version. The tool can be found at http://goolag.org but please use it responsibly. Get!
